Minnie Mouse the Main Attraction - March

The third collection in this year's Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction series has been released today. The collection features Minnie Mouse honoring a new beloved Disney parks attraction each month throughout the year. Each series will be released on the third Saturday every month for a total of 12 collections.

March's collection is inspired by The Mad Tea Party and includes a Minnie Mouse ear headband, plush, pin, mug and backpack by Loungefly. Due to the closure of the Disney Parks and Disney Stores, items in this month's collection have been released only online at ShopDisney.

We've also been given a preview of April's collection themed to It's A Small World. Next month's collection will release on April 18. Per a Cast Member friend of mine, this will be an online only release as Disney Stores and Disney Parks remain closed until further notice. The collection will drop at 7am Pacific Time.

March's collection was the fastest installment yet to sell out with every item gone within a couple hours. My personal experience was not very enjoyable. I had the items I wanted in my cart and began checking out 2 minutes after the series dropped. The website couldn't handle the traffic and after trying to load the final checkout page incredibly slowly multiple times, I continued getting a Winnie the Pooh "Oh bother" error message. I tried unsuccessfully for 30 minutes until one of the items I was trying to buy somehow sold out. I removed the sold out item and tried for another 45 minutes to check out before finally being successful.

In my opinion, this surge in popularity is because ShopDisney is currently the only way to purchase these items. For January and February, collectors could buy online, at the parks or at Disney Stores, but now everyone is forced to buy online only for the foreseeable future. Therefore if you are wanting any of the items in the collection each month, make sure you're online promptly to make your purchase.

Minnie Mouse the Main Attraction - February

The second collection in this year's Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction series has been released today. The collection features Minnie Mouse honoring a new beloved Disney parks attraction each month throughout the year. Each series will be released on the third Saturday every month for a total of 12 collections.

February's collection is inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean and includes a Minnie Mouse ear headband, plush, pin, mug, hip pack by Loungefly, and a MagicBand. Items have been released at the Disney Parks, Disney Store, and online at ShopDisney. (Please note MagicBands are not sold at Disney Store locations).

We've also been given a preview of March's collection themed to The Mad Tea Party. Next month's collection will release on March 21.

This series is proving to be much more popular than last year's Disney Wisdom series, but still not quite to the level of Mickey Mouse Memories - yet. As this catches on I expect it will reach an equal level of crazy. The Minnie ears from February's collection sold out online within hours and instantly at my local Disney Store.

ETA 02/16/20: One day after release it appears the ears and Loungefly hip pack have both sold out online, with the plush, mug and pins still remaining.

ETA 02/29/20: Two weeks after release the plush is still available online and at the Walt Disney World Resort

Minnie Mouse The Main Attraction - January

The first collection in this year's Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction series has been released today. The collection features Minnie Mouse honoring a new beloved Disney parks attraction each month throughout the year. Each series will be released on the third Saturday every month for a total of 12 collections.

This month is the Space Mountain collection celebrating the 45th anniversary of the iconic attraction at Walt Disney World Resort. A Minnie Mouse ear headband, plush, pin, mug, mini backpack by Loungefly, and a MagicBand have been released at the Disney Parks, Disney Store, and online at ShopDisney.

We've also been given a preview of February's collection inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean. Next month's collection will release on February 15.

It's hard to gauge the popularity of a new series when it's first released so it's hard to say how long these items will stick around and what level of stock Disney Stores will be given. I would expect items to sell out much more quickly in-store and online than at Disney Parks locations.

01/25/20 ETA: Many items from January's collection stuck around for a little bit. At the time of writing this, 1 week after release, the only items still available are the mug and Loungefly backpack.

01/31/20 ETA: Disney have now given a release time as well as date for February's collection. Items will be available at 7am Pacific on ShopDisney.com

The Disney Wisdom Collection didn't really appeal to me very much and I didn't purchase anything all year. This collection however had my attention as soon as they said Disney Parks attractions! I like the Space Mountain Collection but there's nothing there I can't live without. I am definitely interested in seeing each upcoming month's offerings!
