Animal Kingdom Starbucks Now Open
The 4th Walt Disney World Starbucks location inside of the parks, has opened today at Disney's Animal Kingdom. This new Starbucks, named Creature Comforts, is located in the Discovery Island area of the park.
I LOVE the theming! I am so impressed! There have been a lot of negative responses to Starbucks entering Walt Disney World, but I don't see how you could complain about this latest addition. It fits right in with Animal Kingdom's look and feel. I don't think you'd ever really know this was a Starbucks if you just walked by without paying much attention.
Wanna hear the best part? A portion of the sale of every Flat White Latte at this location is donated to conservation programs that preserve the Cotton-Top Tamarins in Columbia. This drink was chosen to reflect the fluffy cotton top crests on the monkeys heads.

Days of Disney Past - DINOSAUR
Last week marked the 15th Anniversary of Disney's animated feature Dinosaur. The Disney Parks Blog posted a short article remembering the days of Disney past, when Dinosaur first opened at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
In 1998 the attraction now known as Dinosaur first opened as Countdown to Extinction:
I remember experiencing this attraction in 1998 before its grand opening to the public, at a Disney Vacation Club member soft opening. Here's a picture of the ride under construction:
After the release of Dinosaur, the ride was re-themed to include Aladar the iguanadon:
This ride still scares me every time, but I love it! I enjoyed taking a look at the past to remember how I first experienced Countdown to Extinction. (All photo credit to the Disney Parks Blog).
