Disney Wisdom - December Collection

This year ShopDisney and Disney Stores have launched the Disney Wisdom series. On the third Saturday of each month, every month throughout the year, a new collection has been released based on a different character and inspirational quote. This month marks the twelfth and final installment in the series.

Last month was inspired by The Lion King and this month is inspired by Cinderlla featuring the quote, "Even miracles take a little time" by Fairy Godmother. A Fairy Godmother plush, journal, pin set, mug, t-shirt and wall art have been released at Disney Stores and ShopDisney. Items in December's collection range from $16.95 to $26.95.

This concludes the Disney Wisdom collection. I'm a little surprised that the series did not do as well as last year's Mickey Mouse Memories Collection. I personally didn't pick up anything from this series simply because none of the quotes really resonated with me enough to where I felt like I needed a mug or plush featuring the quote. I don't really collect pins and I have plenty of journals, so those never would have appealed to me.

I liked the idea of the series being based on inspirational Disney quotes however I do think it's weird that sometimes they chose characters that didn't correspond with the quote, for example the Simba plush last month featuring a quote from Rafiki. Why not make it a Rafiki plush? Feel free to let me know what you think of Disney Wisdom and which items you bought in the comments.

Vans Nightmare Before Christmas Collection

Another Disney and Vans collaboration has been released and this edition is Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas! Multiple shoe styles are available for men, women and kids including canvas slip ons and Sk8-Hi. Here are a few of the styles available:

We've also been given a preview of December's collection, the last in the series, inspired by The Fairy Godmother from Cinderella. Next month's collection will release on December 21.

I'm all signed up for Disney+

I got the D23 deal on a Disney+ subscription today - a 3 year subscription for the price of 2 years! That's less than $4/month for a ton of Disney awesomeness!

I'll admit, when I first heard about Disney launching a streaming service I wasn't sure about it. There's plenty of Disney on Netflix, so are they just going to pull everything for their own service and practically make people pay twice as much for the content we always had? But now that we know more I'm really excited about it. Disney is bound by certain licensing agreements so they won't be pulling everything from Netflix, plus they're releasing their own exclusive content including: The Mandalorian and The World According to Jeff Goldblum.

I'm counting down the days!

Oh My Disney Dog Collection

Disney have most definitely got my attention with their new Disney Dog Collection as part of their Oh My Disney line. Products include mugs, dog bowls, Spirit Jerseys, a dog collar with matching bracelet, dog toys, journals and sticky notes, pillows and blankets, and much more. My dog Leia is my best friend and I'm all over being matchy matchy with her!

There's nothing I don't like in this collection but the mug, bowl and Spirit Jerseys are definitely coming home with me! Find these items online at ShopDisney.com and in-store at Disney Store locations.

Last month was inspired by Lumiere and this month is inspired by Pinocchio featuring the quote, "Always let your conscience be your guide" by the Blue Fairy. A Jiminy Cricket plush, journal, pin set, mug, t-shirt and wall art have been released at Disney Stores and ShopDisney. Items in July's collection range from $16.95 to $26.95.

We've also been given a preview of August's collection inspired by Bambi. Next month's collection will release on August 17.

ETA 07/28/19: It appears the popularity of this collection is declining as many stores still have items available. The entire collection is also still available online. However, that could be specifically based on this month's release and could change in the future.

New Toy Story Shirt

With the release of Toy Story 4 this weekend, I wanted to show off a new shirt I got recently from Box Lunch! This light denim shirt has Buzz, Woody, Rex and Ham alongside the buttons and three aliens sitting in the pocket.

I usually wear a size small in Box Lunch clothing but this shirt was a little baggy and I needed to size down. It's pretty soft and super comfy! I'm a big Toy Story fan so this was a must-have for me! I was able to get it for a great price too using my Box Lunch Money!

Last month was inspired by Pocahontas and this month is inspired by Beauty and the Beast featuring the quote, "You don't have time to be timid. You must be bold. Daring" by Lumiere. A Lumiere plush, journal, pin set, mug, t-shirt and wall art have been released at Disney Stores and ShopDisney. Items in June's collection range from $16.95 to $26.95.

We've also been given a preview of July's collection inspired by Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio. Next month's collection will release on July 20.

If you're interested in purchasing any of the items in the Disney Wisdom Collection, be sure to get in line early at your local Disney Store because they will sell out and stores have varying quantities available. Online availability has also been very sporadic and unpredictable so far.

Avengers: Endgame Suit Track Jacket

I posted the Avengers: Endgame collection by Her Universe back in April and shared that there were several pieces I loved. I recently purchased the track jacket or as I like to call it the "Time Heist suit". This jacket is identical to the suit worn by the Avengers in Endgame, complete with Avengers logo on both shoulders and the "spacetime GPS" on the left wrist.

It zips down the front and it's legitimate active wear, made of 95% polyester and 5% spandex. It feels amazingly soft and comfortable! Right now I'm enjoying styling it with my regular clothes but I may wear it as a track jacket in the winter when I run. This jacket is available at Hot Topic and I was thrilled to find it in store because it sold out super quick online! I was also able to use my Hot Cash and military discount to get this jacket for $23 from an original retail price of $56.90!

The sizes are unisex and I am wearing a size small. For a close fit, XS would have fit me better but that size wasn't available in store. Plus, I don't like my clothing to fit snug, especially when I'm working out. This jacket is incredible and I am so obsessed with it!

Disney Gift from My Mama

When I visited my mom last week she gave me this super cute gift - Ariel Havaianas flip flops that she picked up on her recent trip to Brazil! As you may already know, Ariel is my favorite Disney princess and these will look so cute with my Mermaid Lagoon bathing suit I bought last year!

ColourPop Disney Villains Products

I posted a little while back about the release of the Disney Villains Collection at ColourPop Cosmetics. This collection looked amazing and I was so thrilled with the items that I got from the Disney Princess Designer Collection that I decided to add a few Villains items to my ColourPop collection.

I bought a lot of eyeshadows from the Disney Princess Collection (see my previous post on that for more details) so I wasn't going to get any from the Villains collection. I decided to get just one because I liked the color and adding it got me free shipping ;)

Perfectly Wretched

This is the "Jelly Much Shadow" eyeshadow in the shade "Perfectly Wretched" inspired by Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians. It's kind of a creamy, nude color with some sparkle. I haven't worn it yet but it looks perfect for when you want a little something but still want to maintain a natural look. There are 6 different eyeshadow shades retailing at $8 each.

Evil Queen

This is a matte lux lipstick in the shade "Evil Queen", inspired by none other than the Evil Queen from Snow White. It's a gorgeous deep red, which I usually stay away from, but I thought it would make a good evening shade. I don't have any colors like this and I haven't worn it yet, but if all else fails I'll keep it for use during cosplay. 

Hades

This is another matte lux lipstick in the shade "Hades" inspired by the god of the Underworld. The picture here I think makes the shade look a lot darker than it really is. (The first picture in the post is more accurate). This is a peachy color that looks so pretty worn! Great for my pale skin tone, it's clear I'm wearing a lipstick without being loud. Great with the natural tone makeup I wear the majority of the time.

Dr. Facilier

This is the last item I got from the Villains collection, another matte lux lipstick in the shade "Dr. Facilier" inspired by the Shadow Man from The Princess and the Frog. Dr. Facilier is one of my favorite Disney villains so naturally I wanted this one. This color is difficult to describe and again this picture makes the shade look much darker than it is. The first picture in this post should give you a more accurate idea. It's almost like a pink-ish brown if that makes any sense at all!

Each matte lux lipstick retails at $8 and the appearance of the lipstick outside of the box is the same for all shades.

The packaging for this collection is absolutely gorgeous! The lipstick casing is also really neat with icons from each of the different villains running along the tube.

Another neat touch that the Villains lipsticks have is the word "Villains" running across the back. The picture below is of the Hades shade where I think the wording is clearest.

I am super happy with this collection, there's nothing to dislike! The packaging is amazing, the colors offer something for everyone, you can represent your favorite Villain, get a good quality product, and it's affordable! I would recommend ColourPop's Disney line to every Disney fan! You can purchase from ColourPop's website as well as ShopDisney.

Last month was inspired by Winnie the Pooh and this month is inspired by Pocahontas featuring the quote, "Sometimes the right path is not the easiest one" by Grandmother Willow. A Meeko plush, journal, pin set, mug, t-shirt and wall art have been released at Disney Stores and ShopDisney. Items in May's collection range from $16.95 to $26.95.

We've also been given a preview of June's collection inspired by Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast. Next month's collection will release on June 15.

Marvel Vans Haul

With all the excitement surrounding Avengers: Endgame and the upcoming film Spider-Man: Far From Home, I decided it was time I finally posted the Marvel Vans I bought back in December!

The Marvel Vans collection was released way back in the summer and I loved so many pairs! I restrained myself and purchased only one pair - the Black Panther Hi-Sk8 (which I have worn a TON by the way!). Then in December I stopped by a Vans outlet near the Air Force base I was stationed at during that time and I was very surprised to see that they had several different styles from the Marvel collection available, including three in my size!

I really wanted the Deadpool Hi-Sk8 and the Spider-Man canvas shoes, both of which were heavily marked down, but decided I should probably only buy one pair. Unable to decide, I saw they were having a sale (I'm sure it's the same every day) buy one get one half off. Naturally, I bought both pairs. I got military discount on top so I walked out of there incredibly happy with the insane deal I got! Before tax, the Deadpool pair came out at $36 (full retail price was $75) and the Spider-Man pair came out at $13 (full retail price was $65).

I definitely recommend grabbing these collaboration shoes when they're first released if you can't live without them. I don't live that close to an outlet, but even if you do, they can be very hit or miss on the styles and sizes they have. If you want to avoid disappointment I would not wait to see if you can buy them at outlet.

New Aladdin Inspired Collection by Her Universe

Her Universe has released yet another magical Disney clothing collection over at Hot Topic. This release is based on the upcoming live action film Aladdin that hits theaters toward the end of this month.

Items are available for both girls and guys including a magic carpet woven shirt (pictured above), Princess Jasmine peacock romper (pictured above), magic carpet denim skirt, and my favorite - a Genie on vacation tie front top (pictured below).

Pieces range from $29.90 to $44.90 and are available for purchase now in Hot Topic stores and online.
