ColourPop Disney Designer Products

It was forever ago now that ColourPop released their Disney Designer collection themed to Disney Princesses and back in December I purchased numerous items from the collection. I've finally gotten around to blogging about them!

I love everything I've purchased from the collection! I think this line is much more affordable than other brands like Besame and they're still fantastic quality! The lux lipsticks are incredible, they are so smooth, they don't dry out my lips and make them crack, and they hold up really well. Hours later even after eating and drinking the color stays and doesn't transfer. The packaging too is stunning!

One of my favorite items I purchased is the Kiss the Girl lipstick kit which includes all 6 of the Disney Designer lipsticks. It retails at $45 or the lux lipsticks are available for individual purchase at $8 each.

Here's a closer look at the lipsticks in the kit:

Unfortunately this picture makes the shade look like a purple color but it's actually a soft pink.

Snow White is a gorgeous deep red (naturally) that is true to the character. Sadly this picture makes the shade look more brown.

This picture came out pretty true to life. Jasmine is a hot pink color reflecting the princess's sass. This shade is my least favorite (and I haven't worn it yet) because I think it's too bright with my skin tone. If this were not included in the kit, I wouldn't have bought it.

This picture again didn't come out looking right. It's very difficult to get photos to come out right sometimes even with lighting. This shade is actually much lighter, kind of a red-ish brown. It's beautiful and looks great on me!

Ariel is another gorgeous color! Again my picture isn't great, this is more of a bronze color. Very fitting for the Little Mermaid.

My only other picture to come out right, Tiana is a dark brown shade and it's beautiful! Perfect for evening.

I didn't take a picture of swatches because I'm super pale and hardly anyone has my complexion so it won't be a true reflection of these colors on most people. The great thing about ColourPop is their website shows swatches as well as pictures of the product on three different skin tones. If you're curious what the shade would look like on you, definitely check out their website! (Their pictures of the lipsticks themselves are also way better than mine!)

Another of my favorites is the It's A Princess Thing eyeshadow palette. Retail price is $22 and it includes 15 shades.

The inside of the box has each princess's signature on the lid which I think is a really neat touch. Each color is inspired by characters from each princess's movie.

Here's a closer look at the names of each shade. You can click the picture to make it bigger. Some of my favorites are Grumpy, Ray, One Kiss, Enchanted Rose, and Triton.

I really loved the colors in this collection (and the princess theme) so I also bought both highlighters as well as three additional eye shadows.

The highlighters pictured above are Part of Your World (left) and A Smile and A Song (right). Each retails at $8. I have used both and honestly I don't notice a difference in their color when applied. But I do like them. I don't wear highligher very often but these definitely show without being super obvious.

These are the three additional eyeshadows I bought. As you can see from the picture further up, they are smaller than the highlighters. These shades are similar to those in the palette but they are not the same. The shades in the palette are not available for individual purchase. There are 6 individual eyeshadows, one for each princess, and I bought So This Is Love (left), Heigh Ho (center) and Almost There (right). They retail at $6 each.

These items were previously available at ShopDisney but they are currently sold out. They are still available on ColourPop's website and this weekend only (April 26-April 28, 2019) you can use the code DISNEY20 to receive 20% off your purchase!

Disney Wisdom - April Collection

This year ShopDisney and Disney Stores have launched the Disney Wisdom series. On the third Saturday of each month, every month through the end of the year, a new collection will be released based on a different character and inspirational quote.

Last month was inspired by The Jungle Book and this month is inspired by Winnie the Pooh featuring the quote, "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think" by Christopher Robin. A Piglet plush, journal, pin set, mug, t-shirt and wall art have been released at Disney Stores and ShopDisney. Items in April's collection range from $16.95 to $26.95.

We've also been given a preview of May's collection inspired by Meeko from Pocahontas. Next month's collection will release on May 18.

If you're interested in purchasing any of the items in the Disney Wisdom Collection, be sure to get in line early at your local Disney Store because they will sell out and stores have varying quantities available. Online availability seems to be better than before with items not selling out as quickly as previous releases, but they are still selling out.

Sisters of the Force Collection by Her Universe

On Thursday at Star Wars Celebration Chicago, Her Universe released a new clothing collection Sisters of the Force honoring the female heroes of the Star Wars Universe. The collection was available for purchase at the convention and is also available to buy online at the Her Universe website. Pieces range from $24.90 to $99.90 and are selling out fast!

There's everything from casual t-shirts and hoodies, to classy dresses. My favorite items are the Admiral Holdo dress (pictured below) and the Padme Lake Dress (pictured above).

Ashley Eckstein has really knocked it out of the park with this one! Something for everyone with styles from the prequel trilogy, The Last Jedi, and the Clone Wars, including practical items like the Rose Tico jacket and Ahsoka windbreaker, as well as beautiful dresses for cosplay at conventions.

Captain Marvel Clothing

I posted previously when Her Universe released a Captain Marvel clothing collection at Hot Topic and Box Lunch. I fell in love with it and picked up several pieces for myself. Here they are:

Here I'm wearing the Captain Marvel jacket from Box Lunch over the Captain Marvel pocket tank, also from Box Lunch. I bought both using my Lunch Money which got me an awesome deal! (The aviators are from Fossil).

Here's a look at the Pocket Tank without the jacket. I got a size small in both and the tank is a little over-sized but I still feel like it was a good, comfortable fit. The jacket fits perfectly and I rolled up the sleeves. I wore both to see Captain Marvel opening weekend.

The lighting in this picture is terrible, but here's a look at the stitching on the back of the Captain Marvel jacket. The bad lighting makes it look gray but it's still the olive color you see in the first picture. The stitching is so subtle yet totally Captain Marvel, and I love the vintage style to match the decade of the movie.

This photo is the Captain Marvel Aviator Jacket from Hot Topic. The sizing on this was a little strange. I'm usually a small so that's the size I started with, but I felt like the arms were disproportionate to the rest of the jacket. They felt too tight and when I zipped the jacket up, it felt like it was choking me around the neck. So I exchanged for a medium which fits comfortably both zipped and unzipped, and the arms feel better. But I think it looks a little too big unzipped. Oh well. I still love it so I'm keeping it!

Here's a look at the t-shirt without the jacket. This is the Captain Marvel Cosplay shirt from Hot Topic. I got a medium in this shirt because I find Her Universe tees usually run small as they're listed in junior sizes. The medium is a comfortable fit but again felt a little over-sized (very unusual for Her Universe) and is longer in length than I thought. Again, it's comfortable so I decided to keep it instead of exchange for a small.

I bought both the Hot Topic items with Hot Cash and they also had 25% off Captain Marvel the day I purchased in store - an incredible deal! Not only did I get great prices on all of these items, but I'm so glad I snagged everything when I did because now it's all showing sold out in my size. I'm thinking about wearing one of these outfits to see Avengers: End Game. I have a feeling Carol Danvers will be the hero of that movie.
